I love Black Rock Shooter, both the TV series and OVA. I adored the whole theme and everything about it. Yuu Kotari (also known as "Strength" in the alter worlds) was my favorite. I can relate to her so well. I consider her to be one of my Spirit Animals.
I can understand about being depressed and letting it out through your art. Usually upon seeing the result and feeling satisfied with it, you start to feel a little bit better. A good sense of accomplishment in what you do is a nice way of easing it off and feeling a bit more confident. I hope you're feeling at least a little better now!
